Let’s get started with the basics! From number of children and duties required to salary expectations and schedule, we’ll use these details for validation and matching purposes. Once the application is reviewed, we’ll reach out to discuss which scouting approach best suit your needs. 

A successful pairing is just as much about the nuts and bolts as it is about compatible personalities and parenting philosophies. Based on selected approach, we’ll connect over the phone or email to discuss your application, deal-breakers and must-haves. Following these discussions, if Just Like Family is a fit for your needs and requirements, we’ll follow up with a contract and deposit.

With an understanding of your family’s needs and values in mind, Just Like Family will hit the ground running on your behalf. Based on the approach selected, over the course of a few days or weeks, Just Like Family will present complete nanny profiles for your viewing. We value quality over quantity, expect a carefully culled list of candidates. By the time you meet candidates, we will have spoken directly on the phone with at least two previous families that have worked with your potential nanny, we find this live discussion crucial to the matchmaking process and will provide you with full notes of those conversations. You are always encouraged to speak with references yourself as well!

After we’ve narrowed the candidate pool you can begin coordinating interviews. Just Like Family will provide interview questions to guide the conversation. Following interviews, we’ll regroup to weigh the pros and cons of each candidate and support in the decision-making process.

To ensure confidence and a compatible fit, we suggest a follow-up interview or afternoon trial for up to two candidates. This allows the candidate to see what a working day is like in your home and for you to observe the candidate interacting with your children. There is no agency fee for this period, but you will be responsible for paying the nanny directly for their time.

Once you’ve selected the right nanny for your family and both parties feel happy with the terms, Just Like Family will provide an employment agreement template that you may use to formalize the arrangement The remaining balance is due within the first week of your candidate starting with your family.
